Members of the Board of the Chamber participated in the premiere of the film „Mana Briviba” which is based on historical events of Latvia in the late 1980s. During that period Latvia and other Baltic states were fighting to gain independence from Soviet rule.
Alicija, the main character of the film is based on the real-life activist Ita Kozakeviča. Kozakeviča was a journalist and politician of Polish origin who emerged as one of the brightest stars of the awakening era in Latvia.
The film has been nominated for the Oscar award in the ‘International Feature Film Award’ category.
One of sponsors of the film is ORLEN Neptun, company of ORLEN Group, which plans strategic investments in the renevable energy sector in Latvia.
