On September 19, 2023, a traditional reception on the occasion of Army Day was held at the Latvian War Museum, organized jointly by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Riga and the Defense Attachment.
The reception was honored by the presence of, among others: Metropolitan Archbishop of Riga Zbigniew Stankiewicz, former Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks, Latvian MPs, military representatives and ambassadors residing in Latvia. The attendance and conversations with the invited guests indicated that the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Monika Michaliszyn, and the Defense Attaché of the Republic of Poland in Latvia, Col. Tadeusz Słomczewski, was received with great satisfaction by both the civilian and military diplomatic corps. The guests declared that Polish involvement in the world, also in the context of support for Ukraine, is noticed and highly appreciated. The ceremony was also attended by Polish soldiers stationed in Ādaži as part of NATO’s enhanced forward presence (eFP) and scouts from the team operating at the Polish School.
